I have recently discovered the work of Tomohiro Inaba, a Japanese born sculptor who works with steel wire. The sculptures start out as seemingly true to form depictions of common animals such as sheep or deer. The animals are made to feel in motion as Inaba twists, tangles and moulds steel wire into the wool of a sheep or the back legs of the deer.
